The care provided to the residents at A Meadow View AFH is unparalleled. My dad had that difficult sometimes combative type of dementia that made things very hard. And after two years of this, I was literally at my wits end – even went to the ER one night because I thought I was having a heart attack, nope. Just stress. But then I found this place and for the first time in two years I could go to sleep at night without being in full blown worry mode and like Diana, the Owner, committed to me early on, finally I could concentrate on just being a son again. My dad recently passed away and he had only been a resident for just over three months, but it was a wonderful final three months. The staff there, all of them… but particularly Katrina and Lawrence showed such care and literal love that really, I could ask for nothing more. My dad was never left in his room, he would be brought out in the morning for breakfast and spend the whole day in the living area doing planned activities or out on the front or back porch, listening to music and having the buzz of activity around him. Care staff took the time to sit with him, to walk with him, to engage with him, and to be more for him then a mechanical care giver. I know my father was loved and the food… the food was just amazing. I found myself enviously eyeing the pot of potato, corn and kielbasa chowder they were serving one evening – and of course they always invited me to eat there if I so desired. I would visit my dad daily, and the home was always warm and inviting, music would be playing, the doors would be open onto the deck, and the whole house smelled of home cooking. This is a good place – there simply is not anything else out there like it. Trust me. I looked. And don’t get me wrong, this level of excellence does not come easy. Diana runs a tight ship, she doesn’t accept subpar performance, and she is responsive to all feedback. I’ve seen her fire employees and work herself nonstop to fill any gaps when they would rarely come up. If you’ve been looking for a home for a precious loved one, you can stop looking. A Meadow View is the place.

Diana, Chief Nursing Officer, has been an amazing and stalwart patient advocate for my husband while he spiralled through the cruel journey of Alzheimer's Disease. She responded to an emergency placement call immediately, assessed his condition and agreed to provide his care when another facility no longer would, admitting him within 24 hours. She acted swiftly to get a Hospice assessment to enhance his care, again, when his insurer wouldn't. She replied to my gazillion messages with thoughtful, sensitive information that soothed my anxious heart and soul regarding my husband's safety and well being. Her team is kind and responsive, effectively communicating about patient needs, conditions, questions and concerns. The facility location provides the quiet and calm that is critical to enrich Alzheimer's Disease victims' behaviors. On his first day there, he stood on the deck, taking in the meadow view and said, "This is a beautiful place" even though his condition was very severe and speech limited. I will be forever grateful to Diana and staff for their exemplary management of my husbands disease.

My parents have lived here for nearly a year, and we are very grateful for the staff, especially the loving care they give to the residents. Anjuli Davidson is a great director. This home is run differently than most AFH homes because they have a team approach, including 24 hour staffing (meaning someone is always awake). Though our parents have passed, they had special care and were content at A Meadow View AFH. Thank you, Anjuli and your wonderful staff!
